FAQ

What happens in Counselling?

Counselling offers you a safe, supportive and confidential space in which to explore the difficulties you may be facing, and to work together to make sense of what you are feeling and the things that matter most to you.  I will not, at any time, be telling you what to do or solving your issues for you, but I will be helping you to consider your concerns in a way that will enable you to feel that you have gained a deeper perspective and been fully supported.

Can I talk about anything that is on my mind?

You can talk about anything that is on your mind - counselling is a safe space for you to bring anything you feel you need to discuss or to help you process any difficulties you may be facing. Nothing is too "small" or too "big" to bring. If, after working together, we feel that I am not the right counsellor for you, or that I do not have the appropriate skills to support you with your concerns, then we will discuss a referral on.

How often will we meet?

We will meet for 50 minutes each session on a regular basis, at a time and frequency that is convenient for you, until you feel ready to conclude your counselling. This can be face to face, online (via Zoom) or by telephone.  Weekday and evening appointments can be arranged.

How much does it cost?

The cost of a 50-minute session is £45, payable by bank transfer prior to the counselling session. or by cheque or cash on the day.

What about Covid 19 security?

Face to face counselling takes place in my Covid secure counselling environment, with appropriate Covid measures in place, or you can request online counselling if this feels more comfortable for you.

What is the first step?

You can contact me through the Contact Me page on this website, or by telephone 07542 846837 or email jackie@jackiesawfordcounselling.co.uk. We can discuss any questions you may have, and I will then send you a referral form to complete and submit to me (this is a simple online procedure). If you do not have access to online we can arrange a telephone call at which we can complete the referral form together.  Once I have your completed referral form, we can book our first appointment together. Attending the first appointment does not commit you to having any further counselling with me, whether you continue or not will be entirely your decision.
